Spirit Guides
Spirit Guides come in all shapes and sizes and take a form that is best for you personally at the place you are currently at in your life. Depending on your belief system, Spirit Guides can appear to be human or come in the form of any one of a number of animals or creatures.
It is important to understand, that just like everything else in our universe, Spirit Guides are another form of energy. What we see is 100% dependent on how we personally perceive that energy.
Some people will perceive more than one of their Spirit Guides at any point in time. I personally have never heard of it, but if a person truly needed it, I would imagine they could perceive dozens of Spirit Guides at any given time. It all depends on what that particular person needs in their life at that moment in time.
You should also realize that it is not unusual for someone to not actually see their Spirit Guides. Some only hear the voice of their Spirit Guides speaking to them and others neither see or hear their Spirit Guides, rather they receive a knowing in what is similar to a telepathic nature.
For most people however, they tend to work with only one or at the most two Spirit Guides at any given time. But through out the course of their lives, their guides can change many times as the knowledge they need and the lessons they need to learn change.
Spirit Guides are there to guide you. They do not make decisions for you but will gladly act almost as a best friend, helping you to make good decisions on your own.
You can talk to them, ask them questions and as you move forward on your spiritual path, they can help you to advance as far as possible within their lifetime.
I have occasionally met people that thought their Spirit Guides should be their personal guide to all the riches of the world. Rarely do these people see success because they have at least temporarily placed their spiritual path on hold while they seek out the mundane of this world.
Treat your Spirit Guides as friends and do not abuse that friendship. All friendships are a two way street, a give and take situation that has both persons showing mutual respect for the other. It is important to remember that a relationship with a Spirit Guide is personal to you. There is no right or wrong way to contact them. They often will show up in your life when you need them to most, but for some people they do not show up until you specifically ask them to show up.
For most people who are seeking to initiate contact with their Spirit Guides, it is best to ask for contact while in a meditative state. Allow your mind to open to the flow of energy that connects us all with the universe. You may or may not receive an immediate reply, but in most cases, you will receive some sort of a reply in the near future if not immediately.
Seek out your spirit guide and develop a good working relationship with him/her. It can only improve your life for the better.
