Psychic Powers: How they Manifest
Almost everyone in the world has at least one psychic power, yet most people will swear they have never had any type of experience with psychic abilities. How can that be? Is one side or the other lying or fooling themselves or could it perhaps be that the definition each side uses to explain what psychic powers are, needs to be updated? As someone who has worked with my own and helping other people to develop their psychic powers for most of my life, it is easy to see which answers falls closer to the truth of the situation and this article examines what the differences is all about.
Every person in the world is a combination of things that can be broke down into 3 basic categories. We are comprised of genetics (the things we pick up prior to birth from our parents), the experiences we have throughout our lives and a group of things I will call our spiritual selves. If you happen to be someone who does not believe in any sort of a divine being, please bear with me on this one, and I will explain more later in the article.
In the genetics category, we include what some people would call "racial memory". The term racial memory is another term that does not have a good solid definition that everyone can agree on, but basically it speaks to thoughts, ideas and ways of doing things that we are born with, which come from the thoughts, memories and experiences of people with the same basic genetic background. For instance, you may have heard someone talk about an "Irish Temper" or an "Italian love of pasta". In most cases, these things can be traced back to the areas of origin of our ancestors.
Psychic Powers are not always as bright as a light in the night. |
For most people, especially in the early stages, their psychic powers manifest calmly and smoothly without jangling your nerves or making you want to scream the way people in the movies react. |
The individual experiences we have throughout our lives are much more accepted as reasons for who we are and how we act. When dealing with psychic powers, an example of this would be two children growing up as friends. One comes from a family that believes in psychic powers in a positive way and the other believing that anything dealing with psychic powers is bad or from their religions "devil". The child who's parents believed in psychic powers is much more apt to grow up with activated abilities that make a major difference in their life. Whereas the child who was taught they are bad could possibly never have a manifestation of any type of psychic power.
When we speak of our Spiritual Selves, it takes into account any and all instances that do not fit in the first two categories, plus any psychic powers that have already manifested, any experiences where any type of ghost or spirit would be involved, all of the religious training we have had and our general belief and commitment to what we believe determines good and/or evil. To understand this concept, you have to lot outside of what you consider your personal religion and keep in mind that while most religious people tend to be spiritual people, not all spiritual people belong to any religion. The experiences you personally have with your religion are probably not the same as the experiences someone who claims a different religion might have, but when we speak of our spiritual selves, it encompasses all the spiritual experiences everyone has had, not just your own.
Obvious, all people are very complicated. This is why we can not say any group of people will be a specific way because no two people within a group will think or react to every situation exactly alike. In other words, what you consider to be a psychic power or a psychic experiences, might not qualify as a true psychic power in someone else's way of seeing things.
This leads to a lot of people who think they have never had a psychic power to manifest in their lives, when in reality, they have had many experiences but due to differences in how they view things, they simply did not rank the experience as a manifestation of a psychic power.
When you choose to do as I have and rank any experience where any type of information is known through anything other than the commonly accepted five senses, you begin to see where it is actually hard to find a person that has not had at least one experience. When you open a persons mind and they begin to see the truth of the situation, they often begin to remembers hundreds of times when they were the recipient of information from their psychic powers
Many people expect to receive a clairvoyant psychic power as they see in the movies where the person suddenly is all but rendered unconscious, usually unable to stand up and can barely breath until the vision has passed. While there are people who are hit that strongly by their abilities, most people experience all types of psychic powers in a much calmer and milder manner. Of course that would not make for a good movie experience so they intentionally make the experience seem much more dramatic.
All types of psychic powers tend to manifest in most people in a gentle and many times peaceful way. While some people receive what could be called complete messages, most people receive only bits and pieces of messages and this too leads many people to believe they do not have any psychic powers.
Sadly, the worst part of all of this is when you deny that you have ever had any type of experience, it begins a process that shuts your psychic powers down and prevents them from working in the future because denial is even worse than doubt. When you completely deny the existences of psychic powers, you will never be able to develop them. Chances are you have heard it said if you tell yourself you can't do something long enough you will be unable to do it. Psychic powers work the same way and I strongly urge you, if you have an experience that you can not explain, but the experiences is not strong enough for you to accept it as a manifestation of a psychic power, accept it as an unexplained experience. Do not use it to bolster your denial and keep looking for the instance that will prove to you that psychic abilities exist.
