- Myth: You should always test your psychic by throwing trick questions at them and by trying to block your energies. Then you will know if they truly have psychic powers.
Reality: Any time you intentionally try to prevent a psychic from reading you, you are wasting your time and money and the psychics time. You also risk building a negative relationship with the psychic. After all, if you think it is all a game, why should they put much effort into it? Psychics are human beings and just like you they do not like having someone play around with something they take very seriously. You will know when a psychic is giving you a decent or good reading and you will know if they are way off the mark. On a first reading, there is a good chance you will not be spending more than $10 or so anyway, so what is the point of assuming before you start that the psychic is trying to rip you off? If you honestly feel that way about the person, you should not be getting a reading from them in the first place.
- Myth: You have to be born with psychic powers.
Reality: This one depends on how you look at it. Since everyone has some psychic abilities, you could say everyone is born with them. If you are talking about strong, life changing abilities, then the myth is wrong, because there have been plenty of people who developed their psychic powers after reaching adulthood. It really is more of a question of how advanced the abilities are. Very few people are born with super strong psychic powers, they almost always start developing later in life.
- Myth: If you take a class that gives several hours worth of training, your psychic powers will be exceptionally strong immediate after taking the class.
Reality: There have been cases where someone went from zero psychic powers to having super strong abilities in a flash, but in almost every case, the person experiences some sort of major trauma such as being struck by lightening or receiving a head injury. For the vast majority of people, psychic powers will start to slowly unfold and it may take weeks, months or even years to completely build any one ability. For most people, even when they take a class, it still takes practice and effort to get really good at any ability. After all, have you ever heard of any star athlete that never had to practice. Musicians, singers, actors, painters, even doctors have to practice their skills to be good at them, so why should psychics be any different?
- Myth: Only people from certain religions can learn to use their psychic powers
Reality: That one is completely wrong. Anyone, including those that do not believe in any type of god, can learn to use their psychic powers. The powers are something that is hard wired into the very fabric of our being and are available for everyone. To be truthful, many religions actually hold people back from being able to develop their abilities because religions tend to still hang on to ideas that have nothing to do with god, but were established by the members of the religion at a time in history when people thought there were demons around every corner just waiting to grab them. Psychic powers are available to everyone, without regard to race, religion, sex or national origin.
- Myth: All psychics are all the same, one reading is just as good as another one.
Reality: Psychics are like people in any other profession, some are better than others. Not every can be Lebron James and it works the same way with psychics.
